Martino: Barca won’t relax

Tata Martino has insisted Barcelona won’t switch off in the second leg despite taking a 2-0 lead over Manchester City.

A Lionel Messi penalty and a goal from Dani Alves gave the Blaugrana an away victory over the Premier League side on Tuesday night.

The return leg is played on March 12 and Martino said at a post-match Press conference that Barca would remain focused for the home tie after a comfortable win at the Etihad Stadium.

“For 10 minutes during the first half we lost control a little, but in the rest of the game we did well,” Martino said.

“We have to remain calm and continue along the same path because there is no time to relax as we must now start thinking about our next game in La Liga.

“We have clear objectives in each tournament. We can play better or we can play worse than tonight but in no way are we going to relax.”
