Lawyer: Barca offered €4m bribe

A lawyer who represents one of the companies that jointly own Neymar, has claimed that Barcelona offered him a seven-figure bribe.

There has been controversy surrounding the Neymar transfer that saw him move from Santos to the Blaugrana in the summer.

Former President Sandro Rosell has since resigned after a lawsuit was filed against him for alleged ‘misappropriation of funds’.

And Roberto Moreno, a lawyer who works for DIS, has claimed that the Catalan club offered him money to not file a lawsuit.

“Barça offered me four million euros to keep quiet and not to file a lawsuit against them. They made this offer through André Cury. They made the offer, insisting that that would be the end of the matter,” he told La Xarxa.

Moreno confirmed the news published by AS earlier this week: “DIS filed a lawsuit against Barcelona, Neymar, Santos and Wagner Ribeiro in Brazil and we will now be taking the matter to the Spanish law courts,” Moreno explained.

“If there was no problem with Sandro Rosell, then why did he resign?” he continued, “that is very strange. We are demanding our 40 per cent of the Neymar operation. We feel as though we have been deceived by Neymar’s father and by Neymar. We feel cheated and sad.

“We held a great deal of affection for Neymar’s father – we helped Neymar and his family. Real Madrid’s bid was much greater than Barça’s. DIS was not notified of the negotiations with Barça or Madrid – both of them acted behind our backs”.
