Iniesta thankful for support

Andres Iniesta has thanked the fans who attended Barcelona’s Copa del Rey win over Levante after he returned from injury.

Iniesta played the first 45 minutes of the 5-1 win, his first appearance since the 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid earlier in the season.

Barca held a hefty advantage from the first-leg, when they ran out 4-1 winners, and speaking to reports after the match the midfielder expressed his gratitude for the fans who braved the heavy rain.

“Firstly I want to thank the people that came,” Iniesta said.

“Although the tie was in our favour it was important to play our game and come away with victory.

“It was a game that served as training for future fixtures.

“We cannot lower our intensity. What has been done today is for tomorrow.

“There will be difficult times by the end of the season, but when we are in good form we must seize the moment.”

Iniesta added that he is hopeful of being involved in the weekend’s League fixture with Valencia after coming through his Cup run-out without a problem.

“I feel good and have a good feeling I can play on Saturday.

“Although it’s a different Valencia than in recent years we have to be serious and go for the win.

“The team is good and living in a good moment in every way,” Iniesta added of Barca.

“The hardest and most beautiful time of the season is to come. We have to keep growing.”
