Paris Saint-Germain have denied ever approaching Barcelona or Lionel Messi about the Argentine joining the French club.
In an interview with the French press, reported by Mundo Deportivo, PSG chairman Nasser al Khelaifi has rejected rumours of a big money transfer.
“There has never been contact with Messi,” al Khelaifi said.
“I’ve not talked with Barcelona. Never.
“For now a move for Messi is impossible.”
When asked if a move for Messi could happen in the future, al Khelaifi responded with tongue firmly in cheek.
“If you have the money to make him come, make a sign and bring him to Paris.”
When it was suggested that PSG have an unlimited budget that could sign any player in the world, al Khelaifi’s response was clear.
“If Messi doesn’t come to Paris, it is because there are limits.”
