Neymar ‘dreams’ of CL success

Neymar has conceded that he has ‘dreamed’ about winning the Champions League with Barcelona.

The Blaugrana are into the last 16 of the competition, but face a tricky test against Premier League side Manchester City.

The Brazilian forward though, believes his men can fight for a place in the final.

“The Champions League is the trophy that I dream about winning the most,” he told AS.

“I want to win it and will do everything I can to help the team win it. It’s the first year I’ve competed in the tournament and I really hope by the end of the season we are fighting for a place in the final.”

The youngster then commented on his first few months in Barcelona, and whether he feels the pressure at Camp Nou.

“My aim was always to join a club that had great players. God has put me in a team with great players, where I play alongside my idols. It’s all going very well.

“I’m growing in confidence, feeling freer on the pitch and working well with my teammates, but I know I can play a lot better than I have been up to now.

“How can there be pressure when I’m playing alongside Messi, Xavi and Iniesta? When you play with them, the pressure disappears, and I am living out my wildest dreams by being here.”

The Brazil international however, has suffered from a lack of goals this term, as well as being labelled a diver.

“To tell the truth I’m not bothered about it. The only thing I worry about and obsess over is winning matches and trophies.

“I’m not a diver. When I get fouled or kicked hard I try and protect myself and not get hurt. But anyway, I’m not sad or angry by what people might say about that.”

Neymar concluded by commented on Lionel Messi, and the things the Argentine forward has taught him during his short time with the Blaugrana.

“He is always training, always thinking about football. But especially about striking the ball. What I admire most admire about him and the thing that has had the biggest impression on me is his ability to make the right decisions.

“I’ve never seen anything like it. Getting to know him has only made me more of a fan of his.”
