Manuel Neuer has given his backing to Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s future in the game, but also commented that he is unsure if he is ready yet for Barcelona.
The 21-year-old is being heavily linked with a summer move to the Catalan capital, to replace Victor Valdes, as he sees out his contract.
Whilst no official announcement has come through, it is generally believed that a pre-contract agreement for a transfer in the region of €10m is in place with Borussia Monchengladbach.
For Germany and Bayern Munich’s current No 1, Ter Stegen is a man with all the right attributes for a strong future ahead.
“He is a ‘keeper with a great future, he is sensational, a great goalkeeper,” Neuer has commented to AS this week.
“Ter Stegen is definitely a great goalkeeper. He is agile and knows very well how to solve the most complicated of situations.
“I do not know if he is yet ready to play at Barca, that is something you should ask his technical staff.”
