Bernd Schuster has admitted he was ‘thrilled’ as Malaga claimed their first away of the season on Friday.
Ignacio Camacho scored a sixth winner to give the Costa del Sol outfit a 1-0 win over Elche last night.
“Scoring first was important for us in this game,” he told a Press conference.
“Both teams had their sights set on the three much-needed points, so gaining an early lead was crucial.
“The match was fairly balanced, however when Elche had a man sent off, we had two or three good chances to increase our lead so we could relax a little more, but we’re all thrilled with our first away win of the season.
“When a team is down to 10 men, you don’t really notice it as much in set pieces, just during play. However if a Spanish team is a goal down they will never surrender in their search for an equaliser.”
