Real Betis midfielder Xavi Torres will be out for at least four months after suffering an Achilles tendon tear.
The 27-year-old was stretchered off in the Verdiblancos’ 0-0 draw with Rijeka in the Europa League on Thursday.
And the club have today confirmed that the former Levante man has had to be operated on and will be sidelined until at least April.
A statement on their official website revealed that the midfielder was “optimistic about playing at least one more game this season.”
