Gareth Bale has been forced to pull out of Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey first-leg clash with Olimpic Xativa on Saturday.
According to the club’s official website, the Welshman has gone down with a mild dose of flu and has not travelled with Carlo Ancelotti’s men to face the minnows.
As a result, the Italian has left him out as a precaution, reducing his squad for the Last 32 game at the 9,000-capacity Campo de Futbol La Murta to 17 players.
