Madrid have Inigo intention

Real Madrid are reportedly already lining up a move next summer for Real Sociedad centre-back Inigo Martinez.

The highly rated 22-year-old, who has recently broken into the senior set-up at international level with Spain, is seen as Madrid’s primary objective for next summer.

Marca report that Los Blancos’ President Florentino Perez has already probed the possibility of a deal with Real counterpart Jokin Aperribay more than once.

Whilst Aperribay has, first last summer during negotiations for Asier Illarramendi and then this October in the capital, informed Perez of La Real’s intention not to negotiate below Inigo’s buyout clause, it is believed not to have deterred Madrid.

It is understood that Los Merengues are prepared to meet the youngster’s €30m clause to take him from Anoeta next summer and also pay up the VAT, which with the figures the same as with Illarramendi last summer, would push the total spend on the defender to €39m.

Madrid are also reported to have already made clear to the player that his current earnings of €1.1m would be more than doubled up to a starting salary of €2.4m, which again are identical figures agreed with Illarramendi during the last market.

The capital club are described as having placed signing Inigo next summer as a priority, with Carlo Ancelotti approving the move and Zinedine Zidane having received favourable reports on the youngster from former Real Coach Philippe Montanier.
