Barca and City tracking Claudio Bravo

Both Barcelona and Manchester City are believed to be tracking Real Sociedad goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Chilean international’s form with La Real this season has not gone unnoticed by some of Europe’s big clubs and he is understood to have been checked out by both Barca and the Premier League giants.

The Catalans are searching for a successor to Victor Valdes when he departs the Camp Nou at the end of this season, while Blues’ boss Manuel Pellegrini could be looking to replace the out-of-form Joe Hart in the transfer January window.

While Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Pepe Reina are reported favourites to take over from Valdes, Barca boss Tata Martino is well aware of Bravo’s capabilities due to his friendship with Marcelo Bielsa, who worked with him when he was in charge of the Chilean national team.

Meanwhile, Pellegrini knows all about his countryman, who has been with the San Sebastian outfit since 2006 and told Mundo Deportivo last year of the respect there is for the current City boss.

“I’ve not had the fortune to meet him but as a Chilean I’m glad to hear that everyone who has shared a dressing room with him says marvellous things about his coaching ability,” said Bravo.

Even so, with a contract at Anoeta until 2017 that contains a buyout clause of €30m, it could take an offer of sizeable proportions to prise Bravo away from northern Spain.
