Atletico Madrid will travel to Zenit St Petersburg this midweek without a number of senior stars including the trio of David Villa, Diego Costa and Arda Turan.
The three attacking talents have been left out of Diego Simeone’s squad to travel out to Russia this Tuesday for the fifth matchday of the Champions League group stages.
With Atleti already qualified for the knockout stages of the tournament, the Coach has also handed a breather to Diego Godin, Filipe Luis, Cristian Rodriguez and Tiago Mendes.
Mario Suarez is still out as he looks to recover from a knee injury, whilst homegrown players Lucas, Ndoye and Alex Diaz are handed senior calls.
