Madrid fire Castilla boss

Real Madrid have announced the sacking Castilla boss Alberto Toril after a series of disappointing results.

Los Blancos’ second string are bottom of La Segunda, having taken just seven points from a possible 42, and went down 6-0 away to Eibar last weekend.

“Real Madrid Football Club wish to inform that Alberto Toril is no longer the coach of Real Madrid Castilla.
“The club has offered Alberto Toril the option of continuing to work for the club in his role as Director of Training at the Real Madrid Academy.
“Jose Manuel Diaz, who until now has coached Real Madrid C, will take over as coach of Real Madrid Castilla.,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

Toril took over the reserve side in January 2011 and his stewardship oversaw the development of players such as Jese Rodriguez, Alvaro Morata, Dani Carvajal, Nacho and Alex Fernandez amongst others.
