Madrid can sign Khedira replacement now

Real Madrid may not wait until January to sign a new midfielder, according to reports in the Spanish Press.

Marca have unearthed an LFP ruling that states:  "Outside of the two official transfer windows, licences can be granted when a player is unable to play through illness or injury, if this period that the player is inactive for reaches five months.”

And after Sami Khedira was ruled out for the next six months through injury, the Madrid-based newspaper believe that Carlo Ancelotti could try and sign someone within the next few weeks.

One stipulation however, states that said player must be at a Spanish club already, or out of contract.

With such options already, including Casemiro, Isco and Asier Illarramendi, the Italian tactician may be willing to wait until January to bring in an experienced defensive midfielder.
