The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) reportedly received approval from the Spanish government before organising their friendly with Equatorial Guinea.
The game organised for Saturday afternoon in Malabo has drawn criticism from Amnesty International and human rights groups for ‘legitimising a brutal and bloody dictatorship’ under President Teodoro Obiang.
AS report that before accepting the invitation to play the match, the RFEF consulted with members of the Spanish government and received approval to go ahead.
The Spanish team will not be allowing photo opportunities with Obiang nor attending any receptions in the country, when he may be in attendance.
