Lionel Messi will undergo tests on Monday to determine the full extent of a suspected thigh injury picked up on Sunday evening.
The 26-year-old has suffered over the last few months with the muscle in the back of his legs and was pulled off midway through the first half of yesterday’s 4-1 win at Real Betis once more in discomfort.
Barcelona have reported that he has picked up an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg and that further tests will determine full damage this week.
The striker, who only recently returned to action after a lay-off having injured the same muscle in his right leg, had been named in Argentina’s squad for international friendlies during the November break.
