Barca have Pique doubts

Barcelona have slight fitness concerns over Gerard Pique’s condition for the Clasico against Real Madrid this weekend.

The defender missed last weekend’s League trip to Osasuna, with Tata Martino reporting it was due to fatigue more than any physical discomfort.

However, on from returning to action in the midweek draw away to Milan in the Champions League, the player has been confirmed by Barca as having now strained the hamstring muscle in his left leg.

The club have not confirmed the severity of the injury, but he will face a different training programme on Thursday and Friday.

It has led to early reports in the Press indicating that his place in the line-up for Barcelona’s home Clasico with Real Madrid is at risk.

Meanwhile, it is believed that Cesc Fabregas and Andres Iniesta are fighting for a third spot in midfield for Saturday’s game, to be alongside Sergio Busquets and Xavi Hernandez.
