Ramos rested, Benzema or Morata

Carlo Ancelotti looks set to rest Sergio Ramos against Juventus, as he must decide between Alvaro Morata and Karim Benzema in the Real Madrid attack.

The Italian is seen as heading into tonight’s Champions League Group B fixture with a new-look midfield trio of Luka Modric, Sami Khedira and Asier Illarramendi, leaving no room for Isco.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Angel di Maria look set to start on the wings, with Karim Benzema or Alvaro Morata still a choice for Ancelotti to make up top.

Meanwhile, speculation is that Sergio Ramos may settle for a place on the bench, with Raphael Varane deputising alongside Pepe.

With the Clasico up next at the weekend and with Ramos having played through the international period for Spain, Madrid are seen as keen to hand the defender a breather.

Alvaro Arbeloa is set to return to right-back, with Marcelo staying at left-back and Iker Casillas once more between the sticks in Europe.

Speculation is that Juventus will line up with a back four, to mark a change in tactic, with Giorgio Chiellini shifted out to left-back and Martin Caceres in at right-back.

Arturo Vidal is seen as likely to be fit to return from a thigh problem picked up at the weekend, whilst Spaniard Fernando Llorente will be handed a starting berth alongside Carlos Tevez.

Probable starting line-ups

Real Madrid: Casillas; Arbeloa, Pepe, Varane, Marcelo; Khedira, Illarramendi, Modric; Di Maria, Benzema, Ronaldo

Juventus: Buffon; Caceres, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba; Marchisio; Tevez, Llorente
