Xabi Alonso has been granted the medical green light to resume competitive action for Real Madrid, after months on the sidelines.
The midfielder has been out of action since the end of last season, when summer surgery on a persistent groin injury was then followed in August by a further operation required on a fractured metatarsal.
On from working through a set recovery programme, the 31-year-old has today been granted a medical green light to resume full training with his teammates.
Alonso’s last appearance for Madrid was mid-May’s Copa del Rey Final defeat to Atletico Madrid.
