RFEF want firm Costa answer

The Spanish Football Federation will reportedly ask Diego Costa to confirm both to them and publicly his preference of playing for Spain.

The Brazilian born striker was listed by Coach Vicente del Bosque as telling him and technical secretary Jorge Perez of his intention to represent La Roja, only for a delay in the paperwork meaning he could not be involved in October’s World Cup qualifiers.

On from this, Brazil Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has confirmed the Atletico Madrid man is still in contention for a place at next summer’s competition with the Selecao, whilst reports are that the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) are ready to take claims over the player to FIFA.

Yesterday saw reports suggest that Spain would approach the player once more for confirmation on his national team preference and today it is believed that they are seeking a definitive stance that will also be backed up by a public statement.
