Salvo confirms Rami-Milan talks

Valencia President Amadeo Salvo has confirmed that Los Che are in talks with Milan over a transfer for Adil Rami that, within context, ‘is a good deal’.

The Frenchman has been rumoured over the last 24 hours as the subject of an initial loan bid from the Serie A side, with reports indicating that a deal is more or less agreed.

Confirming the existence of these talks, Valencia’s chief made clear that nothing was signed off just yet.

The move is believed set to see the Italians agree to full payment of the player’s wages from January and also a fee of €7m to be paid in the summer to make his move permanent.

“There is still nothing closed either with the player or with Valencia. Logically we are moving closer in positions, but we know that in the world of football, anything can happen.

“Is this a good solution? It depends on how you look at it. The best option is for Valencia to keep hold of all its good players and for none of this to have happened.

“Within the situation, we think that this is a good operation.

“I think that all being well it will be [completed] soon, but I cannot specify as to when.

“Timing is unpredictable because it does not depend on us but on many factors, the player, the other club, and if terms are accepted by both the player and the club.”
