Brazil overlook Diego Costa

Luiz Felipe Scolari has added to the speculation that Diego Costa will receive a call-up to the Spain squad by not calling him up to the latest Brazil selection.

The Selecao Coach has named his squad for two upcoming friendlies with South Korea and Zambia and not listed the in-form Atletico Madrid striker.

Speculation today is that the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have formally requested confirmation from FIFA that they can call up him up for Spain, after two friendly appearances for Brazil earlier this year.

Scolari’s squad does, though, include three names from La Liga, with Barcelona’s duo of Neymar and Dani Alves joined by Real Madrid’s Marcelo.

Brazil squad to face South Korea and Zambia: Jefferson, Diego Cavalieri, Victor, David Luiz, Dante, Dedé, Henrique, Daniel Alves, Maicon, Marcelo, Maxwell, Paulinho, Hernanes, Luiz Gustavo, Ramires, Lucas Leiva, Oscar, Lucas, Hulk, Neymar, Bernard, Jo, Alexandre Pato.
