The club have today confirmed that tests on the muscle in the player’s left leg have revealed a build up of fluid in the muscle.
Almost certainly ruling the forward out of Saturday’s game at home to Rayo, his recovery will determine if he can make next week’s Europa League trip out to Russia to face Kuban Krasnodar.
Valencia are also targeting that European fixture to welcome back Ricardo Costa and Vicente Guaita from respective injuries.
Friday will also see Pablo Piatti return to training after a hamstring injury.
