Albacar: Elche were robbed!

Edu Albacar says he and his Elche teammates feel like they have ‘been robbed’ for seeing Real Madrid defeat them 2-1 on Wednesday evening.

Los Blancos picked up the three points in this midweek League encounter thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s late penalty.

Nullifying Richmond Boakye’s stoppage time equaliser for the hosts, the spot-kick’s award has proven contentious, for the perceived foul on Pepe.

Equally, Elche took exception to the match officials’ decision not to send Sergio Ramos off midway through the first half for a second yellow card.

“Anyone who has seen the game will be able to see why Real Madrid have won,” Albacar surmised post-match.

“There have been small details, like the red card for Sergio Ramos in the first half, not to mention the penalty, but you know, I think it was a bit of a robbery.

“The first goal came from a free-kick that wasn’t one. We have conceded twice to fouls that have not been. We leave with the feeling of having been robbed.”
