Valencia expel ‘disrespectful’ Rami

Adil Rami has been sent home from Valencia’s squad to face Granada tonight for ‘disrespectful public protests against the Coach and his teammates’.

The Frenchman had travelled out with the squad for this midweek’s clash at Granada, with Miroslav Djukic indicating that in Ricardo Costa’s absence, he would likely start as well.

However, after complaining of a poor relationship with the Coach, the 27-year-old has been ejected from the group and sent home

“The Coach of Valencia, Miroslav Djukic, with the full backing of everyone involved in the club, has decided to remove Adil Rami from the match against Granada, for his clear, disrespectful public protests against the Coach and his teammates, made without the required permission or knowledge of the club,” read a club statement on the matter.

“Valencia and their values are above the interests of any person or any other consideration. Only respect for the club will make us great.

“In place of Adil Rami, Oriol Romeu will join the squad.”

Rami has been sent home for statements made to Cadena SER.

“I do not speak with Djukic. He is the head of the boat, but we will see where we are at the end of the season,” the France international stated.

“My relationship with him is not good. He does not speak to your face. To me, he said I could be one of the best centre-backs in Europe and he has not shown it.

“We lost people like Albelda, Tino Costa and Soldado, people who talk face to face and now in the dressing room there are only those that don’t tell the truth.”
