Real Sociedad will reportedly formally present an offer to Barcelona to take Jonathan dos Santos on loan for the rest of the season.
La Real are believed to have received clearance to sign a player on loan to act as cover for Esteban Granero, who is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Whilst a move for Dos Santos broke down in the summer over Tata Martino’s request to keep the Mexican at the Camp Nou, La Real are seen as back in this week.
And, with the San Sebastian outfit in Barcelona for tonight’s Week 6 fixture in La Liga, Mundo Deportivo report that a formal request to take the 23-year-old will be made.
It is understood that intermediaries from the club have already spoken informally to Dos Santos over the prospect of the move.
Barca Coach Martino is once more seen as having final say on the deal and yesterday hinted that he would be open to the deal, depending on the player’s resolve.
Dos Santos has so far managed to play a total of 18 minutes across the Catalans’ opening eight games of the season.
