Madrid: Bruised rib for Iker

Real Madrid have confirmed that goalkeeper Iker Casillas has suffered a bruised left rib after a clash with Sergio Ramos yesterday.

The 32-year-old was forced off just 15 minutes into his first appearance of the season away to Galatasaray on Tuesday evening, having been caught by Ramos when collecting a cross.

Whilst speculation initially suggested a cracked or even broken rib, early diagnosis from the club suggested only bruising.

On from undergoing tests on Wednesday morning, the goalkeeper has now been confirmed as having suffered a bruised left rib.

Casillas indicated the lightness of the injury after leaving the Sanitas La Moraleja clinic today, where he underwent his tests: “It’s just a knock. Everything is alright.”
