Miroslav Djukic admitted that Valencia made it tough for themselves with a poor start against Real Betis, and has asked his players to ‘simplify things’.
Los Che fell to a third defeat of the season at the Benito Villamarin on Sunday evening, thanks in part to the hosts’ strong start to proceedings.
“We must be more simple and robust,” Djukic complained post-mach.
“In the first half we have given very much to the opponent and then we were burdened greatly, because we could not get back into the game.
“The team was not fresh in attack. The players did not work as well together in certain aspects. We have been dense and were easily lost.
“We have to be simpler, more direct and be more forceful.
“We should simplify things and not complicate them so much. There are signs of hope but right now the team is struggling.”
