Mustafa Ozil: Perez has no honour

Mesut Ozil’s father and agent has hit out at Real Madrid President Florentino Perez for being linked to a report disparaging towards the playmaker.

ABC earlier this week published an article ‘quoting’ the Madrid President and sources at the club as listing Ozil’s lifestyle in the Spanish capital as unprofessional.

It was also suggested in this report that the player’s father was just as responsible for initiating his exit on the final day of the transfer window to Arsenal, having demanded a very high salary in contract negotiations with Los Blancos.

The report is also now something that Mustafa Ozil has chosen to respond to.

“The fact that someone has a lot of money does not automatically make them a man of honour and Florentino Perez is not a man of honour,” Ozil Snr told today’s edition of Bild.

“He wants to now turn Mesut into the scapegoat and show me as a the greedy parent only looking to make the big money.

“This is a set-up, lousy business and we will defend ourselves in court.

“If Mesut led the life that they are now saying, I wonder why he was always in the starting line-up.

“Now they want to destroy the image of Mesut because the fans and some teammates are unhappy with his sale.”

ABC later removed the article in question and printed a retraction, stating that Perez did not provide any quotes to them.
