Asier Illarramendi is seen as fully recovered from injury issues and is in line for a call-up and debut for Real Madrid this weekend.

The midfield summer signing from Real Sociedad has endured a disrupted preseason campaign having picked up more than one muscle-related issue and missed a majority of preparation work.

However, in having trained in recent weeks and through the international break, it is believed that the 23-year-old is seen by Madrid’s medical staff as physically fit and ready to now play.

It is seen that the player will be included in the travelling party for this weekend’s trip out to Villarreal and, unlike for Week 3’s home match with Athletic, Illarramendi will also make the matchday squad.

Meanwhile, injuries to Marcelo and Fabio Coentrao picked up on international duty reportedly has Carlo Ancelotti choosing between Alvaro Arbeloa and Nacho Fernandez to deputise at El Madrigal in the left-back position.
