Madrid plan Bale preparation

Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing Week 5’s League encounter with Getafe as when to have Gareth Bale fit and ready for selection.

The 24-year-old has yet to train with his new team, having only completed his transfer from Tottenham on the final days of the summer window, before joining up with the Wales national team for World Cup qualifiers this week.

Work with Wales has been the player’s first training for a few weeks, after a foot injury and then delayed negotiations between Spurs and Madrid disrupted his preseason, and he did not feature in Wales’ defeat to Macedonia on Friday.

Whilst he is seen as still in contention to feature this Tuesday against Serbia, AS report that the player is being considered for Madrid only from Week 5.

Initially speculated as possibly fit enough to debut in Madrid’s Week 4 trip next weekend to Villarreal, it is believed that the club are preparing a mini preseason workout for Bale.

This is seen as likely to rule him out of the trip to El Madrigal, as well as the following midweek’s Champions League opener away to Galatasaray, with his expected availability seen as September 22’s home match with Getafe.
