Mascherano: Tata’s an honest man

Javier Mascherano has praised Barcelona Coach Tata Martino, claiming he is an ‘honest’ man ‘known for his common sense’.

The Argentine tactician was appointed this summer following Tito Vilanova’s cancer relapse.

And his countryman has claimed that the former Newell’s Old Boys boss is the right man for the job.

"In Argentina, Gerardo is known for his honesty and his common sense, virtues we are losing, especially in football,” he told Sport.

"Barça to lose their essence under Martino? A team's dna are the players, not the Coach. And the players are the same."
