Neymar: My style hasn’t changed

Neymar has rejected suggestions that his playing style so far with Barcelona is more restricted than for Brazil or previously with Santos.

Analysis of the 21-year-old summer arrival’s early work with the Catalans has had the media asking him this week what has changed.

However, in response, the forward does not believe that it is anything more than part of his adaptation process.

“I am still the same as always, I am not more restrained,” Neymar has reflected to reporters today.

“Barca give me much freedom in attack, just as I have had in my previous club and with the national team.

“Since Felipe Scolari has come in I come back to cover the full back and one of Barça's characteristics is how we press when we lose the ball.

“That's something I've introduced into my game and I am working on.

“Playing with Lionel Messi? He is on a different level. I admire him and respect him. He’s been the best player in the world on four consecutive occasions and he's got it all to win it again.

“My goal is to play in the best competitions in the world and now I am doing that with Barca. Little by little I know how my teammates play and they also learn how I do.

“My life in Barcelona is relaxed, I love how everything is going. I really like the city, the club and the people that I work with.

“Everything is here to make it perfect.”
