Osasuna are the first club in La Liga to sack their Coach this term, announcing Jose Luis Mendilibar’s removal from the bench.
Los Rojillos, who struggled through last season in the relegation battle, have begun this season with three consecutive defeats.
On from a meeting held today after training between Mendilibar and the club’s board, Osasuna have announced the 52-year-old’s sacking.
“The President Miguel Archanco announces at a Press conference the dismissal of Jose Luis Mendilibar as Coach of Osasuna,” read the club’s initial posting on the news through their Twitter account.
Mendilibar took over at the Pamplona outfit in February 2011 and in his first full season in charge had the team finish seventh in the Division.
However, on from last season’s 16th place finish, Mendilibar departs with the club bottom of the table after three rounds this term.
