Dani Pacheco has severed his ties with Liverpool and returned to Spain after six years with the Anfield club.
The Malaga-born winger has joined Segunda outfit Alcorcon on a one-year deal, having signed for Liverpool in summer 2009 following his departure from Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy.
However, Pacheco failed to secure regular first-team action with the Reds, making just five top-flight appearances, and subsequently spent loan spells at Norwich City, Atletico Madrid, Rayo Vallecano and Huesca.
The 22-year-old has been training with Alcorcon for the past two weeks and has impressed sufficiently to have been offered a contract with the Madrid-based club.
“I’m proud to announce that I’m joining Alcorcon permanently. I want to say a massive thanks to LFC for all they gave me in the past six years,” Pacheco wrote on Twitter.
“I will always be a Red. It’s been my home and I’ll never forget it. Thanks to all you fans for the support and I hope we celebrate the Premier League this season."
