Herrera lowers United demands

Ander Herrera has reportedly supplemented the cost of his transfer from Athletic Bilbao to Manchester United, through lowering his wage demands.

Reports are continuing to grow that United have come in with an offer to activate the buyout clause in his Athletic contract.

AS are now running the line that the player will deposit the €36m fee at the Spanish Football League offices this afternoon, to release him from the Athletic contract and move a step closer to the English.

The Madrid publication also believe that the player’s willingness to see the move go through saw him lower wage demands from €4m down to €3m-a-year, to help United meet the cash payment now.

The Red Devils came in with an offer of €25m+€5m last week and an offer of €30m+€6m yesterday evening, both of which were rejected by the Basque Country outfit.
