Tello signs Barca renewal

Cristian Tello has officially put pen to paper on a second Barcelona contract inside a year, extending through until June 2018.

The winger had been in negotiations through the summer to once more improve his deal, despite only having renewed at the turn of the year.

Barca were believed to have initiated talks out of a desire to increase his buyout clause and remove a point that allowed it to lower depending on appearances per season.

On from reports in recent weeks that a deal had been agreed, the 22-year-old today was at the club’s offices to pen his extension.

Tello has been handed an extra two years on his contract, committing him through to June 2018 and his buyout clause is now set at €25m.

“I’m very happy to have renewed,” Tello told Barca’s official website today.

“It’s a dream to be able to stay for so many more years at this club.

“I hope things remain as good as they are and that I can get to play.

“I’ll be taking all the chances the boss gives me and trying to do my best.”
