AVB: Bale could go very soon

Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed that Tottenham and Real Madrid are in the final stages of negotiating Gareth Bale’s transfer.

The Welshman has seen talks between the two clubs over a proposed world record transfer stall in recent days amid reports of offers from other clubs and Daniel Levy’s unhappiness with Madrid’s behaviour.

Whilst Bale has been described as ‘furious’ at the delay, has missed the last two days of training with the Londoners and subsequently could face a fine, Spurs’ Coach has today indicated that his move out is imminent.

“It could happen very, very soon,” Villas-Boas has told reporters today.

“It’s a dream move for him. This [transfer] can happen in a different way…but Tottenham will accept most likely the biggest transfer in world football.

“At the moment, the two clubs are speaking. I suppose it could go to the last day or it could happen in next two days. But you wouldn't expect the biggest transfer in world football to happen easily.”

The Portuguese was asked of Bale having failed to report for training so far this week.

“He is involved in a big transfer to Real Madrid and, if it happens, we wish him all the best, but the fact that he hasn't turned up is not the correct behaviour.

“I gave the player the weekend off. Monday was a day off for the squad.

“That is the position they chose to take and it's up to the club to decide if it's a fineable offence.”
