Getafe, Celta track Piatti

Getafe are said to be interested in picking up Valencia’s Pablo Piatti this summer, but face competition from Celta Vigo.

The Argentine has been identified by the media in recent weeks as on his way out of Mestalla, with Los Che not including him in first team plans and viewing his sale as necessary to raise further funds.

Whilst there have been offers from Metalist of Ukraine and Philippe Montanier’s new side Rennes, the former move has not materialised and the latter has now apparently been turned down by the player.

Piatti is believed keen to stay in Spain and is seen today as with two potential options on the table.

Specifically it is believed that Getafe are primarily looking at the 24-year-old, but that they must first get around Valencia’s desire for an outright sale clashing with their wish to take the former Almeria man on loan.

Piatti, who Valencia are believed to be looking for €2m from his sale, which would also offload his €1.3m salary, has also apparently attracted interest from Celta Vigo.
