Francisco praised his Almeria side’s opening day performance, but admitted a drop in levels at the end cost them the result.
The newly promoted side marked their return to La Liga with defeat at home to Villarreal, coming thanks to two late goals from the visitors turning 2-1 into 2-3.
“We can talk of how good the team’s attitude has been, for the work that they have done, but in the end the points are going to Villarreal,” considered Francisco post match.
“It hurts because we were committed during this week.
“In the second half we have been good that we thought we would get that second goal, we thought we were superior and that it would be easy.
“We lacked forcefulness in the final minutes and they made good use of that.
“We worked well throughout the match and were vigilant, but in the key moments in the final few minutes, we have been caught out.”
