Betis: Vadillo not for sale

Real Betis have dismissed any talk that they will sell rising star Alvaro Vadillo to Tottenham.

The 18-year-old has been attracting the attention of Spurs, who they see as an ideal replacement for Gareth Bale – should the Wales international join Real Madrid.

“We’re not listening to offers for Vadillo,” sporting director Vlada Stosic told reporters.

“We want to keep him. Unless someone comes and pays the clause, or a figure very close to his buyout clause, then he'll be staying.”

The Spain U20 international’s buyout clause currently stands at €20m, but Coach Pepe Mel was unequivocal when asked if the young attacker was set to leave.

“There's nothing to talk about regarding Vadillo because as far as we're concerned he's not for sale.

“Obviously, if someone lays his full buyout clause on the table and the player wants to leave then there's nothing that we can do.”
