Ancelotti wants Milan full-back

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is tracking Milan right-back Mattia De Sciglio, according to a report in Marca.

The 20-year-old [pictured, left] is a product of the Milan youth academy, where he has spent nine seasons, and is comfortable on either side of the defence as well as also being able to operate as a central defender.

De Sciglio has even been compared to Paolo Maldini and the Milan legend has given the youngster his personal stamp of approval.

“I love watching Mattia play. He fits the Milan style perfectly. He's lacking a bit of killer instinct with the ball at feet and needs to fill out a bit, but he's better than I was at his age", said Maldini.

Ancelotti is particularly impressed by De Sciglio’s versatility – of the 25 games he started last season he played 12 apiece on the right and left, as well as one at centre-back.

Having made the breakthrough to the Milan first team in 2011, he earned a call-up to the Italy Under-21 team in May 2012 and followed up by making his full international debut in a 2-2 draw with Brazil last March.
