Malaga close in on Jese

Malaga are understood to be close to agreeing a season-long loan deal for Real Madrid forward Jese Rodriguez.

According to radio station Cadena COPE, the Andalusians and Madrid have been trying to thrash out an agreement for the 20-year-old to get some valuable Primera experience under his belt this season.

Jese’s five goals in this summer’s FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Turkey saw him catch the eye of some of Europe’s top clubs, forcing Madrid to tie him to a long-term contract and promote him to Carlo Ancelotti’s first team squad.

However, the youngster faces stiff competition to break into the starting line-up at the Santiago Bernabeu so would relish the chance to make his mark in La Liga with the Costa del Sol club.

Even so, any deal could hinge on whether Gareth Bale’s proposed move to Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur finally comes to fruition.

If and when the transfer does happen, much will depend on the manner of payment Los Blancos can agree with Spurs, with one of their options being to offer Jese to the Premier League outfit as a makeweight in the deal.
