Valencia close in on Postiga

Valencia are reportedly set to conclude a deal to pick up Helder Postiga this week as an immediate replacement for Roberto Soldado.

With talks with Tottenham for Soldado reportedly reaching an agreement in recent days for his transfer at a value of €30m, reports have turned to who Los Che will replace him with.

Whilst the likes of Fred and Javier Hernandez have been linked, Valencia are seen as close to wrapping up a deal for Real Zaragoza’s Postiga.

The 30-year-old, who scored 14 goals last season in La Liga, has been widely expected to leave Zaragoza this summer following on from their relegation.

However, a transfer fee is yet to be agreed for the Portuguese international and could prove a stumbling block.

Whilst Superdeporte describe the deal as just ‘hours away’ from conclusion, Los Che are apparently resolute to pay no more than €3m for the striker.

Sevilla were seen to have lost out in a deal for Postiga earlier on this summer with an offer of €4m not meeting Zaragoza’s €6m valuation.
