Fabregas wants Barca stay

Barcelona officials have reportedly already met with Cesc Fabregas to determine that he wants to stay at the club and turn down Manchester United.

The midfielder has been the subject of continued speculation this summer, as despite Barca turning down United’s advances, reports in England had suggested that the player was considering his future.

However, Sport report today that the player’s intentions are to stay at the Camp Nou, buoyed by Gerardo Martino’s intended direction with the team.

Whilst Martino is expected to formally meet with Fabregas later this week, as both begin preseason work at the Ciutat Esportiva, Mundo Deportivo suggest the player has already made clear to the club his intentions.

It is understood that officials from the Blaugrana have already contacted Fabregas and his agent in recent days to ascertain if there was any truth to his reported desire to leave, to apparently be told by both that his desire is to remain with the Catalans.
