Martino set for Barca – report

Gerardo Martino has reportedly agreed to come in as Coach at Barcelona and will see his appointment confirmed in a matter of hours.

Reports on Spain on Monday evening suggest that the Argentine, who recently left Newell’s Old Boys, has already agreed a three-year contract to come in as the Catalans’ new Coach.

Sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta was reported over the weekend as heading out to South America to meet with Martino, as rumours circulated that the post vacated by Tito Vilanova was down to between the 50-year-old and newly-appointed Celta Vigo Coach Luis Enrique.

Despite Guus Hiddink’s resignation at Anzhi earlier today leading to suggestions that he could be a late consideration, reports now suggest that Barca are readying an official announcement to confirm Martino’s appointment.
