Morata turns down Sevilla

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has turned down a move to Sevilla reports Marca.

The Andalusians, who are seeking a replacement for Manchester City-bound Alvaro Negredo, are understood to have offered around €10m for the 20-year-old with Madrid retaining the option to repurchase.

However, the 20-year-old, who starred in the recent Under-20 World Cup in Israel, has decided to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu to try and convince new boss Carlo Ancelotti he is worth a regular place in his team.

It is reported that Morata would have penned a five-year contract at the Sanchez Pizjuan, with Madrid allowed to buy him back in the first two years – €11.5m after the first season and €13m after the second.

Sevilla’s first choice for the No 9 jersey is Paris Saint-Germain’s Kevin Gameiro, who has admitted he is in talks with Los Nervionenses, but the Ligue 1 club are thought to have raised the asking price for the French international after becoming aware that Sevilla have banked cash from the transfers of Negredo and Jesus Navas.
