Ozil negotiating six-year deal

Mesut Ozil is reportedly in talks with Real Madrid over a proposed new contract to sign him to the club until June 2019.

The German playmaker has been in provisional talks with the Santiago Bernabeu outfit over an extension during the past few months.

Bild report that Los Blancos, in a move in part to deter reported interest from Bayern Munich, will re-open talks with Ozil and his father from this week, when the German returns for preseason training.

It is understood that the club are prepared to offer the 24-year-old a deal to sign on until the end of the 2018-19 season, which would represent a three-year extension to his current contract that runs through to June 2016.

Negotiations with Ozil, who has been with Madrid since the summer of 2010, are seen as likely to conclude in the next few weeks.
