Juan Carlos Valeron has been confirmed today as having agreed to return to hometown club Las Palmas to continue his playing career.
The 38-year-old decided to leave Deportivo at the end of last season after 13 years with the Galicians and despite a previous agreement believed in place for a non-playing role at Riazor upon retirement.
On from indicating his willingness to continue playing for 2013-14 elsewhere, though, the creative midfielder has today been confirmed as having signed an initial one-year contract with Las Palmas.
The Segunda Division side have confirmed that terms of the agreement, which return to the player to his hometown club after 16 years, includes an option for an extension into a second season.
