Barcelona are showing interest in Marseille attacking midfielder Mathieu Valbuena. According to TodoMercado, the player’s agent Christophe Hutteau says he has already been approached by Barca director of football Andoni Zubizarreta.
“I spoke to Zubizarreta about Mathieu some time ago and he told me his coaching staff consider him a very good player, someone they all like.
“He also told me that a number of attacking players are going to leave the club, so there could be a new approach.
“However, at the moment Mathieu is very happy in Marseille,” he is quoted as saying.
French international Valbuena, 28, was born in Belgium but grew up in France and is of Spanish origin, his father hailing from Valladolid, and joined Marseille in 2006 from his first professional club Libourne.
